“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson

Dear Lancer Families,

During the All School Mass on 9/11, Fr. Sunny referenced all the men and women who selflessly gave their lives saving others in the attacks in New York.  The whole world was affected by those events and our Nation was never more united.  Fr. Sunny then went on to share with the students how important every moment of every day is to all of us.  We can take nothing for granted and every moment in our lives is special.  We never know when it will be our final moment on this earth, so cherishing the here and now, and being present in every moment, is vitally important.  Never miss the chance, when you have it, to say I LOVE YOU and let others know how much they mean to you!

Be the Yellow - The SMPO Speak Series will kick off with Adam Peterson presenting on Be the Yellow…a worldwide movement that challenges others to find the people in their lives who make their day brighter.  The presentation will take place on September 17th at 7:00pm in the Faith Center (2nd Floor).  Babysitting will be available.

School Pictures - Picture day is Thursday, September 19th.  Per the usual, all students will take their school pictures in their school uniforms.  8th Graders will have the opportunity to take graduation pictures later in the school year.

High School Visits - On September 19th, our 7th and 8th Graders will listen to 3 of our local Catholic High Schools (Montini, St. Francis, and Benet) speak about their specific schools, and the benefits they offer to our Jr. High students who are discerning which high school to attend.

Oktoberfest 2024 - Don’t forget to mark your calendars and buy your tickets for this year’s Oktoberfest held by our SMPO next Friday, September 20th, 2024.  This is a fun-filled celebration for all our parents to come together for food, beverages and fellowship with fellow school parents.

Make it a GREAT day, Lancers!!!

Adam Ferguson
