“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson
Dear Lancer Families,
Today we celebrated all of our students who participated in a Fall sport or club. The students filled Cashin Gym with energy and excitement. Students in each grade level competed in a variety of games during the Pep Rally. Our 8th Graders took on the staff in a Student vs Staff Volleyball Game. Staff got a little help from some SMPS Alums, who we signed to a 1-Day contract in order for them to play on our Team!! Our Student Council did a fantastic job organizing and executing today's Fall Pep Rally! Great job Student Council!!
At the end of the Pep Rally, a handful of students had the opportunity to throw a pie in my face or dump a cup of slime all over me. I’ll be cleaning out my nose and ears for days, but it was 100% worth it to recognize all the top fundraisers in this year's Lancer Dash! Collectively, our students raised over $151,000 for our school…Way to Go, Lancers!!
Jr. High Dance - Friday, October 25th will be the Jr. High Dance in the Gym from 7:00-9:00 pm. Students may dress in a costume for the dance…no masks. Cell phones will be collected at the Door. Please pick up your students promptly at 9:00 pm at Door 1.
Blessing at Mass - This weekend at all the Masses, our Priests will say a special Blessing for all our 2nd Graders who will be making their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion this year. Please joins us in prayer throughout the year as they prepare for these special sacraments.
Championship Volleyball - This weekend many of Boys and Girls Volleyballs Teams will be playing for the Championship. Come cheer on our teams to victory!!
Picture Retakes - We will have Picture Retakes on Tuesday, October 29th. Your child MUST return the original picture package in order to have their retakes. This will also be an opportunity for anyone who was sick on the first Picture Day. Reminder: students are to wear their normal uniforms for picture day.
Halloween at SMPS - We once again have a special treat planned for the carline this year! K-2 students can wear a costume to school and walk in our costume parade at 8:00am (an email with more details was sent to the K-2 families earlier today). All students in grades 3-8 are welcome to wear a Black, Orange, or Halloween shirt/sweatshirt with their school uniform bottoms.
All Saints Day Mass - Friday, November 1st we will celebrate an All School Mass for All Saints Day. There will be NO School Mass on Wednesday, October 30th.
Make it a GREAT day, Lancers!!!

Considering Kindergarten for 2025-2026?
As you look ahead to next year, we invite you to join us for a Kindergarten Info Tour for current parents on November 5th at 9am.

If you attend, please check in at the School Office a few minutes before 9am, entering Door 1. We will walk attendees down to the Library for a presentation, followed by a tour.
Also, we want to assure you that current St. Michael students have admissions priority, and are guaranteed a spot next year. We will initiate open applications for new students beginning November 1st, but please know current students' spots are automatically held for the following year.
More details about this process (and about current families who wish to add a new student) will be coming soon via email.
