“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson

Dear Lancer Families,

This week’s All School Mass was extra special for all our students, staff, and parish community.  Having the International Our Lady of Fatima Statue present gave us a chance to deepen our faith in Mary and learn about the Glorious Mysteries of our Catholic Faith.  Our 2nd Graders had the opportunity for a special Blessing and Scapular Enrollment.  Each was given a Scapular to wear as a sign of their Faith.  Following Mass, our 8th Grade Devotional Leaders led the whole church in praying the Rosary.  Thank you to these Devotional Leaders for their leadership.  All throughout the day, there was a steady stream of pilgrims visiting the Statue and the aura of prayerfulness was felt by all.

We have another special opportunity coming up as we’ve been asked to host the relic of St. Jude - the Apostle of the Impossible.  This will be a day-long event on Saturday, November 16th.  More details and a schedule of events will be coming soon.

Winter/Warm Weather Uniforms (including out of uniform days) - As of this week, all students are required to follow the Winter/Warm Weather Uniform Policy.  Shorts may no longer be worn on school days or out of uniform days.  Please also make sure that your child comes to school with a coat, hats, gloves, etc., as we will go out to recess even in the cold weather.

Spirit Week Theme Days - Next week is Spirit Week. The Student Council has come up with some creative themes for out of uniform days next week…see the listing below. Please remember that all out of uniform choices must be in accordance with our dress code policies. If any student chooses to not participate in the themed out of uniform days, they are welcome to wear their regular uniform each day.

  • Monday, October 21st -  USA Day...wear your favorite patriotic clothing

  • Tuesday, October 22nd - Out of This World (stars, moon, planets and aliens all welcome)

  • Wednesday, October 23rd - MASS attire (regular uniforms)

  • Thursday, October 24th - PJ Day with gym shoes

  • Friday, October 25th - Throwback Day (dress in your favorite decade)

Jr. High Dance- Friday, October 25th will be the Jr. High Dance in the Gym from 7:00-9:00 pm. Students may dress in a costume for the dance. Parents, please pick up your students promptly at 9:00 pm at Door 1.

Make it a GREAT day, Lancers!!!
