“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson
Dear Lancer Families,
Last weekend was busy for all our Volleyball teams participating in the playoffs. In the end, FIVE of our teams claimed victories and became Champions!!! Congratulations to the Girls 8B, Boys 8A, Girls 6A, Girls 5A, and Girls 5B1 on winning their Championships! We are proud of all the teams for their hard work this season! Great job Lancers!!
Halloween brought a lot of excitement to the building. We started with a “St. Mike’s Car Wash” in the school car drop off line. Thank you to all the staff and SMPS dads who joined in on the fun! It’s always great to see the smiling faces of our parents and students when they pull up on Halloween morning. We enjoyed the Halloween Parade with our K-2 classes, cheered on by a wonderful crowd of parents and grandparents. Later in the morning, our 5th graders enjoyed a magic show from the Great Boodini. He did a number of different card tricks, magic tricks, juggling acts and much more. The kids loved it! The day ended with class Halloween parties. Thank you to all the moms and dads who came to help our kids have a great afternoon!
I want to highlight two important emails that were sent earlier today, and ask you to please, please read them. One is about re-enrollment. The other is about the merger of FACTS Family Portal and FACTS Financial. Both have “steps” you may or may not need to take, but if you DO, they are very important! Please read and don’t let these get lost in your inbox. Thank you!

Did you know that plastic bread tags cannot be recycled traditionally in our recycling bins? The 7th grade class will again be partnering with SCARCE for this recycling project. SCARCE works with an organization out of Indiana called Danielle Cares for Chairs (click for full .pdf) that recycles bread tags to raise funds for providing wheelchairs and other forms of mobility equipment for those in need. Starting now, please save your bread tags and send them to school with your child. Each homeroom has a collection container in their room. This collection will run through the end of the school year and continue into next school year. Thank you for supporting this awesome cause!
