AGW 11/22
“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson
Dear Lancer Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful community we are all a part of here at St. Michael Parish School. This is a time to pause and reflect on the many blessings in our lives…family, faith, and the opportunity to grow together in learning and kindness.
We are incredibly thankful for the support, love, and dedication that each of you brings to our school. Whether it's volunteering your time, sharing your talents, or offering prayers, your involvement helps make St. Michael Parish School a truly special place for our students to learn and thrive.
In this season of giving thanks, we encourage all families to reflect on the many ways we can show God’s gratitude—not only in words, but in actions. May this Thanksgiving be a time of joy, rest, and connection with those you love.
Math Team - Last Saturday, our Math Teams participated in the Marmion Academy Math Contest. Both teams did amazing and showcased their incredible Math knowledge. Team #2 took 2nd Place overall and Team #1 took 3rd Place overall. In 8th Grade, we had many individuals who placed amongst the top scorers…Ada Ude (2nd Place), Jack Stiefel (3rd Place), Lauren Flamme (5th Place), and Ava O’Malley (6th Place). The top 7th Grade scorers were Madeline Beyer (4th Place) and Natalie Schumaker (10th Place). The two teams were made up of Ada Ude, Jack Stiefel, Lauren Flamme, Ava O’Malley, Madeline Beyer, Natalie Schumaker, Jack Burkly, Morgan Fanter, Reagan Florczak, and Reagan O’Neill. Great job and congrats to all the Math Team members!
This is on top of the incredible achievements outlined in the last AGW from the Fenwick Math Competition (pic below!). Congratulations, again! (Thank you to those who helped us obtain photos!)

#GivingTuesday #GiveBack - December 3, 2024 - Classrooms are again working on a #GiveBack! We are SO blessed to be part of a community that supports our school. Coordinated by Student Council, every grade is working on a special service project to “give back” to our community - whether to support first responders, the elderly, veterans, the hungry or homeless, and more…our students are READY to give back in beautiful ways this #GivingTuesday! Also, look for this year’s annual “Kindness Chain” in the atrium, with contributions from our whole school!
Wishing you and your family a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Make it a GREAT break, Lancers!!!

"The following Mathnasium Learning centers have a special offer for your families: Mathnasium of Aurora East, Mathnasium of Carol Stream, Mathnasium of Glen Ellyn, and Mathnasium of St. Charles.
The Gift of Math packages are special seasonal end-of-year options built around 3-, 6-, 9-, 12-, or 24-month periods and offer perks for the Mathnasium of Glen Ellyn students and lower membership rates for the parents/guardians.
Last year, we saw a few families choose to use Gift of Math packages, and their students have achieved awesome rates of skill mastery. We also saw families choose to get Gift of Math packages to give to friends or family members!
We at Mathnasium love this program because we think it matches our goals well — students who work consistently make incremental gains so that they can catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
If you have questions, or are interested in getting your own Gift of Math membership, please call/email with the information provided below."

Steubenville Joliet June 27-29, 2025
Music, Prayer, Speakers, Mass with over 1,000 Catholic teens!
The Diocese expects this event will likely sell out in 15 minutes on November 20th when registration opens nationwide!
St. Michael is asking for families to indicate interest by Friday, November 15th, and they can do so by using this link. They don't have to register, but we need some kind of idea of how many spots to reserve. We will estimate a few more spots than those who respond, knowing that more will likely sign up in the spring, but we need to have some kind of idea because of the event's popularity.
