“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson
Dear Lancer Families,
Welcome back to another school year at St. Michael Parish School. We had a GREAT first week! It’s always wonderful to see all the kids smiling and full of energy as they exit the cars and buses each morning.
We can’t wait to welcome the preschoolers on Monday and Tuesday of next week!
NEW STAFF - We are very excited about the many new staff on our team this year at St. Michaels. We will be spotlighting each of them in the coming weeks. Thank you to all of our teachers and staff who have answered the call to serve God and lead our children each and every day.
END OF DAY PROCEDURES - Our end of the day procedures are running very smoothly. We ask that you please make sure your child knows how they are going home each day. If a change to transportation needs to be made, please do so by 1:30pm…after this time, it is difficult for us to get the messages to students in time.
FUN FOOD FRIDAY - Our first Fun Food Friday (FFF) will begin on Friday 8/25 with Jimmy John’s. The first Quest Hot Lunch service will begin on Monday 8/21.
FRIDAY NIGHT SPIKES - Tonight is our first Friday Night Spikes in Cashin Gym. All 4 of our 8th grade Boys and Girls Volleyball teams will be playing tonight at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30pm. There will be pizza and snacks available for purchase in the Snack Shack. Come check out the newly painted gym and pack the place as we cheer on our 8th graders!
FRIDAY SPIRIT DAYS - Just a reminder that every Friday is Spirit Day. Students may wear their uniform bottoms with a SMPS Spirit shirt/sweatshirt. Check out the SMPO Spirit Wear online store. Also, students may purchase an Out of Uniform Coupon Book and use an out of uniform pass on Fridays. The coupon books are $20 for 5 tickets…purchase as many as you’d like from the Main Office!
WELCOME MASS & SOCIAL - Finally, please join the fun this Saturday by attending the Welcome Mass at 5pm and our Ice Cream Social directly afterward. Returning students will pick up their yearbooks at the Social, and we are excited to have everyone together with their families to kick off the year together!

The Lancer Volleyball season starts this weekend. All four of our 8th grade teams will have their home games on select Friday nights throughout the season! We are so pumped to bring back…

There are four games this weekend… 530p, 630p, 730p and 830p. Help your Lancer Teams get started right!
Come early and help one of our 8th grade boys B-team get started with some energy. And while that 830p game is a late one, it’ll be worth sticking around for. Our talented Girls 8th Grade A-team is playing is looking to begin
their quest for a championship!
Also… come hungry because there will be pizza.

All boys Kindergarten-5th Grade are welcome to join Cub Scout Pack 134, we have an awesome year planned! Parents who are interested to learn more are encouraged to attend our kickoff parents meeting on August 31st at the St. Michael Faith Center at 7PM.
