“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson
Dear Lancer Families,
On Wednesday, we celebrated STEM Night. Once again, it was a great night for students and families to engage in many different hands-on activities. We appreciate all our vendors who shared their expertise with us…many of which were current parents or alumni parents, alumni students, and parishioners. We have such an amazing community full of talented people. Special thanks to Hollis Ude and Gina Carroll for all the planning and preparation that went into this great event!
The science fun continued!… Today, the students enjoyed an assembly by Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze did exciting science-based demonstrations with many expositions and surprises. Mr. Freeze spoke about many different properties and the effects of extreme cold temperatures. Additionally, all throughout the week we had incredible Lego inventions being created as each class took their turn with this fantastic program. Thank you to our amazing SMPO volunteers, special guests, and our teachers!
Next week we begin the Liturgical season of Lent. We will celebrate Ash Wednesday as a whole school at our weekly Mass. Because Ash Wednesday falls on February 14th, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Tuesday (2/13) or Thursday (2/15) in our classrooms.
Make it a GREAT day, Lancers!
Adam Ferguson
Principal, St. Michael Parish School

SMPO sponsors speakers and resources for parents and students throughout each school year. A new resource page was added to our SMPS website under “Parents (Internal)” where parents can access any recorded or sharable content. This page is password protected for internal use (and because the content is intended for adults, not children). BELOW IS A MESSAGE FROM WHEATON NORTH:
Greetings!
I am writing to provide updated information for any 8th grade students who may be interested in attending Wheaton North High School in the fall:
Enrollment for incoming 9th grade students (24-25) will open on February 1st. Please check our website for more information on February 1st. I would also encourage parents to follow me on instagram: @wncounseling as I will post up to date information there.
We ask that all registrations be completed by February 21st.
Unfortunately, we do not offer tours or shadowing at Wheaton North.
Each student needs to complete a freshman course selection sheet. The student must give it to their teachers, who will fill out their level recommendations and initial it. Once this is done, the family will circle their course selections and turn the form into me (it may be emailed).
